Francophonie Week Opening Ceremony March 18th 2017 [fr]
The Francophonie Week, which takes place from the 18th to 26th March 2017 in Brunei, has begun this week-end at Jubilee Park.
Program of the Francophonie Week 2017 :
• Opening Ceremony on March 18th at Jubilee Park with the screening of the best short-movies and awards
• Film projection of "Anggur In Pockland", directed by Abdul Zainidi, at the Alliance Française de Brunei
• Good France Brunei Gastronomic Dinner on March 21st at the Résidence of France
• Closing ceremony on March 26th with Axelle Red concert at the Jubilee Park
The Opening Ceremony was launched by the Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism, Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Haji Apong, as Guest of Honour, Madam Loan Forgeron, Ambassador of France, the Honorary Consul of Switzerland Pengiran Izad, as well as many members of the diplomatic corps.
The evening was held inside a night market exhibiting talented activities of young entrepreneurs, and then there was the screening of the short movies competition placed under the theme "Brunei, je t’aime", whose aim was to award three short films that have succeeded to highlight the beauties and spirit of Brunei through the French language. The winner of the contest, Mohammad Hanifi Bin Haji Juffri, received a ticket Singapore-Paris offered by Air France and an invitation to attend Good France Brunei Gastronomic Dinner.
The evening ended with the projection of a Swiss film "Little Mountain Boy".
This event has gathered a large audience, especially young people, who stayed until late in the evening and has benefited a large media impact.
